The ITU will issue in September a report entitled "The Portable Internet" and the tease promises details on "disruptive technologies."

Certainly WiFi has been and will continue to be disruptive as it has leapfrogged GPRS and EVDO in many ways when the idea of Portable versus Mobile is applied. That said, in the portable arena it will be interesting to see how far they go with new technologies like Peerio, PhoneGaim/SipPhone, Skype, etc. all of which are seeking to change how telephony works.
