Tom Keating has an extensive preview of Cisco’s new Unified Communications systems, which will be announced tomorrow. Aside from all the cool new features in their Unified Presence Server, their new Unified Communications Clients, and the Linux appliance that runs Call Manager, the biggest news may be Cisco’s full-on embrace of SIP. SCCP will stil. be available, but SIP will be the protocol of choice everywhere.
