The Altigen IP705 Won TMC Product of The Year, But Why?

altigen IP705 I love the guys over at TMC, but I do not get this one. The Altigen IP 705, is designed exclusively for AltiGen IP Phone Systems. With the 2 line liquid crystal display the IP 705 is capable of displaying time, Caller ID name or number, and do-not-disturb and call forwarding status.The phone also has dual RJ45 ethernet ports for LAN/WAN connectivity, and features such as convenient single button access to voicemail, call conferencing, call transferring, redial and call log lists.

So What?

This phone has nothing more then any other $80 dollar phone. There is nothing special. Nothing innovative. It doesn’t even work with multiple platforms. It is just a basic low-cost phone that works with a closed IP PBX system. Come on TMC! There are tons of IP Phones out on the market today that put this one to shame. This isn’t what I expect for the authority on VoIP as a reader, potential advertiser and exhibitor.
