US100 is offered as a part of VPCC System which said to have the capabilities of its virtualized PC catapult the system beyond current thin client solutions. Among NEC’s VPCC breakthrough performance gains include full multimedia high speed graphics and sound support, data security, integrated voice over IP (VoIP), as well as long-term cost reductions.
The VPCC includes NEC’s next generation of Thin Client computing device, the US100, which provides a high level of IP telephony and video processing quality in the smallest Thin Client footprint around. The palm-sized - 6.1"(w) x 4.09"(d) x 1.34"(h) - device can be placed on the desktop or mounted behind the LCD screen.
The US100 is designed to achieve the system-on-a-chip solution that incorporates leading-edge technologies from NEC and ServerEngines™ LLC, and features VMware® Virtual Desktop Infrastructure pre-installed as part of the VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Alliance program.
The breakthrough enhancements of the US100 include high audio and voice quality VoIP function, high video processing performance, and a significant reduction in initial installation costs. These developments solve some of the problems experienced with earlier Thin Client systems.
