Recent research from the team at In-Stat is reporting that Converged Voice Service (CVS) amongst broadband consumers in Europe is poised to be the next big thing. Using results for a recent survey they conducted, In-Stat says that when European consumers were given the choice between wireless-only, fixed-line only, or an integrated fixed/mobile voice service, the vast majority made a beeline for the integrated service.
“In-Stat’s research supports the conclusion that there is broad consumer demand for converged voice services,” says Keith Nissen, In-Stat analyst. “Service providers throughout Europe, North America, and Asia need to assess the impact CVS can have on their domestic markets.”
Additional research from In-Stat found the following:
- On average, 60% of European broadband consumer households would prefer using an integrated fixed/mobile voice service such as CVS.
- 70%-80% of consumers favor unified messaging.
- Consumers strongly prefer network-based address books, flat-rate service bundles, unlimited local/national calling, and a single supplier of services.
