iPhone Hits Germany

Seems like it took awhile to get there (haven’t we had access to it, for like, ages?!), but in the grand scheme of things, it was aqtually fairly quick. Heise News is reporting that the Apple iPhone has finally hit Germany and while the level of excitement was not quite the same as it was in the US, there was still quite a crowd gathering at the stores that were selling it.
Eager customers were allowed in the store 10 to 20 people at a time, forking over 400 euros for the unit and the promise to fulfill a 24-month contract to the tune of 50 euros a month. Eager reporters were offering 1000 euros for the first iPhone purchased, but got shut down pretty quickly.
I bet I know what a few people over there will be finding in their Christmas stockings next month…
