Infiltration of Internet Telephony Intensifies
Source: solokay.blogspot.com
The rate at which internet telephony is being bombarded with Spam is
becoming very alarming, going by a recent report in the Guardian,
these Spammers have already succeeded in breaking into the system of
the world leading VoIP service providers with their tool, Spam over
Internet Telephony (SPIT). Such leading service providers such as
Skype are not left out.
It is however irony that these hackers have been able to break into
the VoIP system at Columbia University where the co-author of the
protocol that VoIP runs on was developed by a professor in the
computer department.
These sets of unlawful elements, crafted are they in their chosen
careers to the effect that they leave no stone un-turn as far as VoIP
is concerned. They leave bogus voicemail message from a bank thereby
deceiving the owner to reveal details of their accounts, and the rest
is story.
It is therefore, imperative for users of the VoIP services to be on
the alert so that they would not fall prey of these hackers.
