Jajah Enables VoIP Calls on iPhone

VoIP via mobile seems to be one of the trends emerging late this year. Skype has already started rolling out its own devices for making calls using your phone’s data connection, and today, Jajah gets in the mix by launching a new application for the iPhone.

The application can be accessed by navigating to http://iphone.jajah.com on your device. As you can see in the screenshots, Jajah has been optimized for the iPhone interface.

The main benefit here is that Jajah will now allow you to make low-cost calls to Europe and Asia using the iPhone by connecting you over VoIP versus using AT&Ts international plan.

The iPhone support comes on the heels of other recent Jajah news, such as the launch of Jajah Direct for making calls without an Internet connection, and the co-development partnership with Jangl.

While hardware-based VoIP services like Vonage struggle to stay afloat, it’s turning into an interesting year for web-based VoIP companies.
