Low-cost VoIP for Small Businesses?

Small businesses have a new option for VoIP calling. The all-in-one Syspine Digital Operator Phone System is intended for companies with less than 50 employees. It’s a low cost solution from Quanta Computer that uses Microsoft Response Point phone system software. The system can also be linked with voice-recognition software to a company’s phone directory and the individual’s Microsoft Outlook address book.
The system is touted as being easy to install and use, with simple commands, which also lends itself to the cost-effective aspect. According to Syspine, there is no need for additional IT personnel to keep the system up and running (kind of reminds of me of the “so simple, a caveman could do it,” ad campaign . . .).
The Response Point software recently received rave reviews from eWeek (click here to read the full article):
It’s a stunning use of speech recognition technology that is brain dead simple to learn.
Additionally, the system can be used to answer certain common real language questions automatically. For instance, Response Point will tell incoming callers the office hours, whether they ask “What are your hours?” or “What time are you open?” or numerous other variations of that and a couple other questions.
