Matrix Telecom, an India-based designer, developer and manufacturer of telecom solutions, is going to use the Surf DSP-24 chip in a VoIP gateway and IP PBX solution. The Surf chip has simultaneous support for voice, video and data.

“We chose Surf’s solution for its ability to support triple-play voice, video and fax/modem on the same platform, which will help us to expand our product range and features in the future,” said Ganesh Jivani, CEO, Matrix Telecom. “In addition, the comprehensive documentation set and sample applications were instrumental in achieving fast time-to-market for both products.”

The Matrix VFX32 VoIP gateway will  have IP connectivity for analog phones, legacy PBX systems and analog faxes. It’s scalable for smaller operations as well. The Matrix IP PBX will work for companies that need to bridge multiple locations, employee traveling and home-office solutions. It will be able to handle high densities for many codecs over converged networks.

“The competition couldn’t match the densities or price of the C6424-based Surf platform,” said Ashvin Navadia, Sourcing Manager, Matrix Telecom.
