Source: solokay.blogspot.com

Gizmo5 has chosen JAHJAH’s platform for delivery of its services. Based on this agreement, JAHJAH will be handling all call termination for Gizmo5 as well as additional tailored services including customer care and billing.

Through this partnership, Gizmo5 -a widely-used free mobile and computer-based VoIP service, has extended JAJAH’s profile as a Managed Services provider for softphone developers and at the same time increased the subscribers based for JAHJAH to several millions!

Softphones, or software-based-phones, enable people to make IP-telephone calls directly from Internet-connected computers or mobile devices, and are increasingly being seen as an alternative to traditional landline phones for telecommuters and mobile users.

The softphone market is poised for significant growth as competition heats up and global unified communications take hold. A recent Frost & Sullivan report finds that the percentage of the total IP-telephone market that softphones represent will increase from 5 percent to 20 percent by 2014. Softphone sales rose to 416,000 units, worth $18.9 million in 2007, a 30 percent increase in dollar terms over the previous year.

By tapping into the JAJAH infrastructure, Gizmo5 will reduce overhead and expand its service globally. With JAJAH, the Gizmo5 offering doesn’t change, it simply becomes more flexible in reach and more cost effective for its users. JAJAH is a scalable IP telephony network.

It is partnering with technology companies, carriers, mobile and cable companies, and now softphone developers, to provide these companies with a range of IP telephony solutions, which are then extended to its customers.

Source: solokay.blogspot.com

Consolidating on their partnership, Suddenlink Communications and Sigma Systems have launched another service, Advanced Commercial VoIP services for small and medium businesses (SMB), which comes with great package and it’s being hosted by Sigma.

The Commercial Voice Service Package automates the complex IP service fulfilment functions required to deliver voice services with a full set of calling features, including call display, call forwarding, call answer and hunt groups, as well as innovative IP-based communication features such as find me/follow me and unified messaging.

Sigma has designed this package in such a way that it would enable operators like Suddenlink to rapidly create new bundles of commercial services in demand with the requirements of their SMB customers and manages the complexity of inter-carrier (e-bonding) gateway processes.

Commenting on this, Bob Putnam, Chief Information Officer for Suddenlink Communications, said "We have had a great deal of success with our existing Sigma deployment, which automates the fulfilment of advanced IP services including residential voice and high-speed data. As a result, Sigma’s Hosted Commercial Voice Service Package, as well as the new Release 4.0 of its Service Management Platform, was the clear choice for Suddenlink’s commercial voice initiative".

Sigma has been in business for quite a while; it has delivered approximately 100 million managed services for individual, bundled and converged services worldwide and also its solutions have deployed over six million voice lines worldwide. This is a new addition to the Suddenlink services portfolio from Sigma that will hopefully power their long-standing relationship.

Spigate Announces Availability of Free Application for iPhone

Source: solokay.blogspot.com

Sipgate Inc.  announces the immediate availability of a free application for the iPhone, which for the first time allows consumers to natively use any VoIP service which uses the industry standard SIP. Consumers can now use their iPhones to make and receive VoIP calls from their devices over a Wi-Fi Internet connection using a wide variety of VoIP providers. The VoIP-enabling software is available from sipgate’s website.

With the Sipgate service, users can dial any number without using minutes from a wireless plan. This is particularly useful when calling to or from other countries, as call costs can be as high as $3 per minute. However, when using a VoIP service, costs can be kept as low as $0.01 per minute and Sipgate is giving new users 111 free minutes for domestic calls for users to test out VoIP usage on the device.

Another benefit of Sipgate is that consumers can use any domestic or international number provided by their VoIP service on their iPhone. This means that they can make and receive calls from different domestic and international numbers, all on a single device.

Thilo Salmon, CEO of Sipgate commented: "We love VoIP and we love the iPhone so we are giving people like us who always wanted VoIP on the iPhone the ability to use any SIP-based VoIP service they want. We are thrilled that Apple is opening up the iPhone and we look forward to taking part in future application development."

Salmon continued: "As a company we strive to make useful services accessible to everyone. There will be more innovation for businesses and consumers coming from Sipgate this year, so keep your eyes open for more news."
