Seeking a basis for co-operation among telecommunication and internet service industries, the European telephone regulators wants a harmonized rule that would protect the usage of VoIP service within the 27 member nations. This came as a result of the groups intention to correct the wrong notion claimed by some VoIP call providers and therefore not under any obligation to offer some services like the emergency calls.
Speaking on the reasons why there should be harmony between these two sectors, the chairman of the European regulations group, Roberto Voila has pointed out that the VoIP stands in the central of the co-operation irrespective of national boundaries.
With this co-operation, users of the VoIP within the member states would use the same number through the internet and route all their common service through this number and this is in alignment to achieve one of the European union objectives.
